GPU on a work station

Hello, asking a simple question here.

 

Does a higher end gpu(sample:1060 vs 1080ti) contribute to better performance in tasks like:

Video rendering and editing

3d modeling

 

The pc will do mostly content creation tasks (light gaming is just an extra)

Your asking if a better GPU will perform better in GPU heavy tasks ?!

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

 

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad. 

 

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

 

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

Bigger frame buffer 

More cuda cores (nvidea ) / streaming cores ( AMD ) 

More computing units 

It's not really hard , Better = more performance.

I guess it may also depend on the software you're using (I'm don't do rendering or editing, I just heard the people who do mentioning it sometimes). So check your software support, it should tell what to do to enhance perfomance (in most cases: a better GPU).

So for a video render the cpu gets hit

It depends entirely on the specific software used.

Some video editing software will take advantage of GPU power (like Premiere Pro with CUDA), some won't (like Vegas Pro if I'm not mistaken).

Some 3D renderers will take advantage of GPU power (like Blender's Cycles renderer, which if I'm not mistaken can even take advantage of Tensor and/or RT cores), some won't (like Cinema 4D's stock renderers).
