the weirdest case problem

Hey, I just received my new Pc parts.

Here's the list..

I'm using the same Corsair 760T case..

 

I removed my Asus Sabertooth MoBo and randomly, the screws which screw the MoBo in will simply not fit!

 

What the actual chicken.

 

Any ideas?

Your new motherboard is EATX while the old one is ATX, which yout case may not support. If it does, more screws will be needed. 
 

 

EDIT: According to PCPP the case supports EATX so you will have to find the motherboard standoffs that came included with the case when you originally bought it.

Are there any possibilities that the screws expanded?

 

As to why not team red, always I've been an intel guy.

 

I'm trying to screw in the screws without the motherboard to the case and they won't fit, it's like .02mm wider and it won't screw!

I’m not to sure about this, but they are designed to be screwed in with a motherboard between the standoffs and screws, so that could be the problem?

It doesn't make sense at all, when for the same price you could get a 3950X, 4 extra cores, higher boost clocks and not to mention the far cheaper motherboard.

Not the problem. Tried screwing it in with the motherboard but screws won't fit in the holes – I'll send a picture in 5 minutes maybe that helps.

Same old screws that came with my 760T back in 2015.

That doesn't make sense at all, if they're the exact same screws you had your previous motherboard screwed in than they should work perfectly fine. If you can't seem to find screws that work with your motherboard Amazon sells screws you can pick up for less than 10$ that include standoffs and screws as well for less than 10$

Why are you discussing this here? He already made his decision and ask for help in totally different space? This is really bad manners... it's annoying when everybody jump's on the Red vs Blue discussion. Way out of line.

Why are you mentioning it anyway, if you haven't got anything helpful to add, that could fix the previously mentioned issue than there's no point in replying. You mentioning it is equally pointless to either of us making a point.

Are you certain you grabbed the same screws you used before?

 

There's 2 different kinds of standoffs. Some accept a fine pitch thread screw (often found on 2.5" SSDs), some accept a slightly wider course thread screw (often found on HDD).

 

Are you using the correct ones for your standoffs?

To be fair a 3950x won't come close to matching a 10920X on clock speed, most of the Cascade Lake-X CPUs will do 4.8-5GHz all core.
