So I recently bought a  Geforce RTX 2060. While putting it into my PC, I realized my PSU only had a 4 pin, which didnt even fit the GPU. The PSU supplies 500 watts. What should I do?

PCIe power connectors don't come in 4 pin. You're likely trying to plug in a CPU/EPS power connector, which will not fit.

What PSU do you have? If it doesn't even have a 6 pin PCIe connector, you probably want to upgrade it anyway.

Make sure it's the pcie connector not the eps connector

Usually the eps says cpu on it and the pcie cable has vga on it.

Where should it say this? The head or the cable?

Unfortunatly I dont know what PSU I have. I bought it quite a while back. I had a good look at it, but I cant find a 6 pin. If I do need to buy a new PSU, then I guess I'll be having to save up again.

Should be a brand and model on the label on the side of the power supply.
If you're unsure you can upload a picture of it and the cables that it has and I'm sure we would be able to tell you what it is and if it has PCIe cables.

Dont see a brand or model so here is a picture. I looked at the cables but couldnt find an 8 pin. Also, ignore the dust, thats getting cleaned up today.

cables look like the stuff from the wish shopping video. I strongly advise upgrading. depending on your cpu, with a 2060, 500 watts wont leave you will much headroom for overclocking, upgrading and such

The label will be on the other side of the power supply facing towards the motherboard. Doesn't look great from what I can see though.

From the cables coming out of the power supply it looks like it has a 24pin ATX cable, a 4pin CPU power cable, and a molex/SATA power cable. Doesn't look like it has any PCIe cables coming out of the PSU.

Time to buy a new PSU I think.

Would adapters also be an option? I've found adaptors that allow me to plug the cables in the picture into my GPU.

Molex to pcie ?

Technically they would work but I would not recommend them.

Well seeing how I'm broke after buying the GPU, I'll get some adapters for now, and later on buy a better PSU.

I'm still interested in seeing what model power supply you have. I have my doubts that it is actually capable of outputting 500W, especially given the power cables it has - or lack of.

If you unscrew the 4 screws at the back of the case attached to the power supply you will be able to pull it out and have a look at the label that's facing against the motherboard tray.

Time to sound a little harsh, but I feel I need to be stern here.....

You have an old and garbage PSU.

It doesn't have the correct connectors for your graphics card.

If you use adapters, you'll start a fire.

You had $300 for a new graphics card.  Go spend another $70 on a PSU that was made in the last decade.
