Brackets

Hiya, I’ve just brought an IOU for my pc. It’s the cool master ML240l. I’ve noticed that you may need the brackets for the AM4 version. As I brought a few parts of this pc together, I didn’t receive any brackets with it. Is there anyway I can make makeshift ones or maybe get them from somewhere.

Many thanks

What do you mean you didn't get 'any brackets' with it?

You were supposed to get all this with it (including the 'Intel brackets'):

You need the brackets in the red box for an AMD system.

Did you purchase the motherboard new or second hand?

You didn't say new or second hand, but I would return the motherboard either way.

Either you bought it new, meaning you didn't receive a complete motherboard.

Or you bought it second hand, meaning the original owner never ran the cooler with this CPU, which would be quite suspicious.

Sorry I didnt give a clear answer. I basically brought a bundle that was pre built. It only had the stock cooler for AMD so i don’t think it needed the brackets. I’ve had this pc for around 9 months now but because of the hot weather, I brought the cooler. The only thing it has is the backplate for the cpu.

You're either going to need to find these brackets some place (and the original backplate, if the backplate currently installed is not the default one) or get a cooler that comes with all the mounting hardware needed.
