Hey guys,

So I joined this forum pretty recently, but started planning my pc build in late March (knowing literally nothing about what goes into a pc and what it would cost)... and as I noticed early on, this was the perfect time to start wanting/saving/planning my first pc build! Especially since everything is out of stock and overpriced due to some pandemic you guys might have heard of called coronavirus.... when do you guys predict the prices to go back to normal?? I mean COVID is dying down... is the end in sight?

Good job for using Night Theme

When people stop getting sick? Unfortunately, really hard to answer because we dont know when will enough people be resistant to the virus and when we will get treatment that tackles the virus rather than just lessen the symptoms and pain.

I live in South Australia, we've currently got 0 active cases and things are starting to return to normal. Australia as a whole is not out of the woods because we're still getting cases springing up in Victoria, but we can see an end.

I think it'll just be a matter of time, whether its due to some kind of treatment or vaccine being made or possibly just quarantining, but things will go back to normal eventually. We'll probably take some lessons going forward though, like wearing a mask when sick to prevent others catching it would be a good one for everyone to do.

You have 0 active cases as far as you know. Once airports open up though it's going to come back and it's going to be just as bad/if not worse than it was the first go around.

Understand that as an American, this genuinely baffles me. Like, how the fuck is that possible? My dad works in a nursing home, and because our state governor mandated COVID patients to be in nursing homes, they have 2 out of 7 floors EMPTY because of deaths. It's also getting worse now, and the national guard had to come in and administer tests to all the employees. Keep in mind, they wear the proper PPE and it's very strict too. In a neighbouring state, there was a nursing home that had so many deaths, the coroner could not keep up, and as a result, there were a lot of bodies just in a shed (or something like that). I just can't wrap my mind around how there can be a place with no (known) active cases.

Honestly, I dont know. We closed state and international borders, asked people to maintain distance and quarantine if needed. At one point we went on a testing blitz and found a bunch of cases. The past few weeks we've been keeping the measures in place while gradually rolling back changes.

If you want to discuss about COVID-19, do it in single thread for it:

On topic, the prices won't go back down in a year, maybe not even few. This has already seen in previous issues involving tech world (Nand shortage and GPU mining). The prices were overall rising before this one. Looking at GPU prices mainly, as some 15 years ago you could get same GPU for 50% less than what you pay now.
