NVIDIA Windforce GTX 970 or Radeon Asus RX580?

In short, recently my RX580's fans have broken, according to the repair shop it was taken to, the fans cannot be replaced (I doubt it, maybe you guys can give some input?), I was given a GTX 970. I've had my RX for about 3 years. Should i keep the GTX or do I go for the RX or a better card for the same amount of money? Additionally, is VRAM a big factor?

Specs are in the attached image.image.png.acfd8148b1405a4ac94f94b7dab54f9c.png

The RX 580 is a better performer outright and despite what the repair shop is telling you, the fans can in all likelihood be replaced. What specific RX 580 is your card?

Okay, the RX 580 Dual is easy enough to get fans for. This listing on AliExpress is for fans which claim to be compatible with various ASUS cards including the RX 580 that use 88mm fans. Measure the fans on your card to confirm that they are 88mm. They should not be difficult to swap out if you have a reasonable level of experience building PCs.

I have neither the card, a way to measure it, and enough trust in myself to tinker with my PC :P

I've got my asus 970 pulled apart right next to me. asuming you got the small screw driver/driver bits should be under 30 and more like 20 mins for a fan swap

Funny coincidence, I pulled apart my Strix GTX 970 earlier, also sitting next to me.

I know I sound like a downer here but, I'd rather leave that stuff to professionals, even if I won't f something up, the possibility of it alone is a sign.
