Which PSU do I need?!

First time builder here, Just got to add a psu now. But my mobo is able to have an extra 4 pin power connector, and on the builder site it recommends using a psu that has that extra connector.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/LPTjx6  - this is my current plan.

Can someone tell me wether I really need this extra connector or if it’s really just for oc

You don't need the extra 4-pin, and you also don't need even close to 750W of power for that system.

Ditch that motherboard in favour of an MSI B550 Mortar or Tomahawk, ditch the Focus 750W in favour of an RM550x or Straight Power 11 550W, and I'd also suggest getting a larger, better SSD.

It’s a good PSU but lower end stuff will be fine ( 500 W )

That actually looks like the older Seasonic Focus if I'm not mistaken, which had various issues, like badly set OCP which caused it to shut down with some GPUs, and used to be quite loud under load.

AMD Vega mostly, which is nowhere close to OP's GPU in transient power draw.

Under full load, yep, again, this wouldn't be the case here.
