Aerocool LS-5200 review

Guest

I've had this case for around 2 years now, thought that I should make a review since it's not very popular.

There are 2 versions: Black with red LED fans and White with blue LED fans.

Pros:

-4 SSD mounts (2 on top of the psu shroud 2 at the back)

-3 HDD racks in HDD cage

-It has a PSU shroud

-Very liquid cooling friendly, you can fit a 120x240 on the top sized radiator and an 120x360 sized radiator in the front.

-It has a built-in fan controller on the front panel (mine came broken) (1)

-Removable but non-washable filters on the top and front (you would have to disconnect front panel connectors to remove the top filter completely) (2)

-Very good temperatures with 3 Intake (1 cooling hdd's and ssd's and also moving the air under the gpu) and 1 Exhaust all running at 50% and stock CPU cooler running at 56% at 1948 RPM (i7-3770  at 37*C with everyday apps running in the background | Palit JetStream 1060 6GB running at 34*C)

Cons:

-The build quality is very disappointing, everything feels cheap but you can't really complain for the price.

-Acrylic side window that scratches very easily. (3)

-Front panel consists of 2 USB 2.0, 1 USB 3.0, headphone and microphone jack. (1)

-Only comes with 3 fans (2 running Intake at the front 1 running exhaust at the back) when you can put 3 fans in the front.

-Cheap exhaust fan failed within a year. (4)

-The Fan mount for the bottom fan cooling the hdd's are not stable. (5)

-Front IO is upside down (1)

overall if you want a really, really cheap (granted you can find one of these) mesh case this would still not be a good choice. Don't be stupid and buy a Meshify C

I unfortunately own this case as well. Some of the holes for the standoffs were too small on mine. My front panel is extremely hard to put on/pull off. As you said the front panel USBs are upside down. Many parts have horrible tolerances that make removing them very difficult. As for thing that did work for me, all of my fans are still running after 4 years. That's about it. I just replaced this with a Lian Li Lancool 215, and I didn't know what I was missing until I switched.
