Second HDD doesn't show up in OS, except when it is the one being booted.

I bought a Mini Sata/Sata adapter use two HDD's or HDD+SSD at the same time in my Ideapad 330 laptop. The problem is that the old hdd(the one inserted in the adapter) doesn't shows up in OS at all(tried disk and device manager already) but shows up in the BIOS. So i tried to boot my laptop using the old HDD because i knew there was an old version of W10 installed and the system booted showing the booted HDD(the old one) AND the HDD in the principal slot. How could i use the two of them using the principal HDD for boot?
