I Just Gave Ea My Money! :(

alif49

A few months ago I regretted my purchase of BF Premium since I barely play it and I vowed never to fall for EA's schemes ever again. I just bought SimCity...... After being voted the worst company ever and after it being known that EA ploys are quite simply a rip off, I still have a feeling EA will stay on top because their marketing is second to none. BF premium is overpriced but I bought it, SimCity is broken but I still bought it and I wasn't the only one!

Long story short: EA you suck and you are ripping me off but here's my money! As Russel Peters would say : "just take it and go!"

<<<< Will not ever buy an EA game again until it is fully released and reviewed. If they worked out the bugs in SimCity and it's a game you want to play, by all means buy it. I beg everyone though to abstain from EA pre-orders for the rest of their lives.

I literally cannot believe that they put a game up for like 9.99 right after everyones paid full whack, then proceed to put it upto like 50.00 for 3 years! The only game that steams ever wound me up with is mw3 which they never ever put on offer or drop the price. But steam i can forgive as they are great. Origin just go away! Le me lone!!

I wanted to get Sim City just cause of all the extra games you get in terms of compensation but even then, it was kinda still a little too expensive for my liking.

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

I want to buy Sim City but it's too expensive for me. I can't justify it.

I 100% agree. CAD$ 67 taxes included. I am regretting it do much! I really wanted to wait for a price drop but who knows when that might come.

Whats EA? That is a rhetorical question.

Life is pain. Anyone who says any different is either selling something or the government.

The game isn't on steam right? If it was I would get it during one of their big sales.

I think it's only on Origin

I gave up on EA after they released Command and Conquer 4, which I thought was a disgrace to the previous C&C games :(

I am also a sucker who bought SimCity. While the game is pretty fun, the bugs do get very annoying. Also the whole game seems dumbed down and smaller. It is nice if you are a more casual player, you can build a full city and just basically start waiting around for money to come rolling in after about two hours id say. Then all that happens is you get bored and move on to a new region or a new city. In my opinion one of the best ways to play this game is to play a private region so that you can have several city's each specializing in one or two aspects of the specializations available. The Casino towns seem to be better now, but anything beyond a regular gambling house makes very inconsistent money and is generally unreliable.  I am also getting tired of having a city with some industry and getting continual messages about how i need to zone more residential, except for the fact there is no room left. If they want me to expand so much perhaps they should have made the city plots bigger. I have considered returning it, but somehow i keep coming back to it, so you guys tell me is that the measure of a fun game? If you keep coming back to it despite its shortcomings? Sorry this turned into a slight rant but I have been wishing for a long time that EA would start listening to its customers, but they keep getting further and further away from that.

My Timewaster: i5 3570k @ 4.4GHz 1.19v, Asus P8Z77-V, Noctua NH-D14, Sapphire Radeon HD 7850, 16 GB Corsair Vengance, 128GB Samsung 830 SSD, HAF 912, Logitech G710+, G700

Plus Valve likely can't have a sale on MW because activision would not allow it.

The sad truth is EA doesn't have to listen to its customers. They know sales will rise despite their downfall. I just started the game today. It is highly enjoyable but definitely frustrating at times. In other words it is exactly like the company that made it!

Bought Simcity and hated it from the moment i was installed :( just unable to play is annoying, although all the Command and conquers for 12 pound that's 17 games is not a bad deal :)

Yep I got well ripped off by EA I preordered medal of honre warfighter. What a piece of crap that was. It was blocky full of bugs and was written for the console plebs so looked shocking to. Now have gone and done it again with simcity nice game if and when it wants to work. Wouldn't mind as much if you could take or send the game back for a refund that would stop them producing so much crap and maybe Finnish writing the game before selling it.

The graphics for MOH Warfighter was horrible. It definitely was clear that they built it up from the console version. It was a struggle to look past all the flaws and I had to force myself to finish the campaign although I didn't.

I would have bought Simcity 2013 already if it wasn't so darn expensive - I never played Simcity before but this one seems beast, although I am starting to doubt now...

So many things I could write here... things like this.

I'm not trying to be rude here, but after the debacle that was the launch and the ensuing lies/PR crapstorm that came after, what exactly did you expect?  The 2.0 patch they released just recently barely fixed a few minor bugs but introduced several major ones.  Sadly, EA could really care less as they made their money on pre-order and initial sales before everyone wised up.  Even returns/chargebacks haven't phased them in any way.  It still amounts to a snake oil salesman emptying his wagon and hightailing it out of town before the townsfolk figure out he was full of it.

I whole-heartedly agree with Linus in regards to pre-orders.  Companies have begun to promise the moon in exchange for pre-paying for their game, then making up excuses when they fail to deliver.  No company illustrates this point more clearly than EA.  They are a group of money grubbing corporate suits who's only goal is to squeeze every cent out of their customers while systematically killing any franchise/IP they can get their hands on.  It's the business equivalent of a bunch of vultures.  Eat all you can and befoul the rest.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that a company must make money.  If they don't, then they die.  However, if you purchased a SSD from a reputable manufacturer but found that it was half the advertised size, would you just shrug and say "They have to make money"?  No, you'd be ticked off and rightfully so.  So why would that excuse fly for a piece of software that only gives you half of the experience you were promised.  That's not them making money, that's them cheaping out to ship a product they know isn't finished just so they can cash in.

Bottom line here, stop rewarding bad companies with your money.  Stop pre-ordering, stop buying DLC (most of which should be part of the core game anyway), and stop rewarding bad behavior.  What incentive do developers/publishers have to earn your money when they already have it?  Last thing I'll say, stop buying anything from EA.  They are a disease that must be eradicated and the only solution is to starve them out.

Well I have SimCity and I actually enjoy it. Only thing bad about the game are the occasional server errors.
