With all of the requirements and precaution (I.E. Updating BIOS, backing up data), would anyone recommend actually upgrading a CPU? I am wondering if I would need a new mobo?

EDIT: Especially for MATX B450 mobo’s, as the one I am getting does not feature  BIOS Flashback, and is sometimes shipped with the older versions.

Alright look, So the Mobo I have is a B450 DS3H and the CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (updated bios and all), but would the mobo be fine for if to have it upgraded to a AMD Ryzen 5 3600? I am mostly wondering if it is safe for my mobo. Sorry for not giving the detail to answer.

If you have updated to a 3000 compatible bios, then yes, its safe.

ask yourself again, why do you need an upgrade?

how long till next upgrade needed?

even 2 gen later cpu wouldnt justify the cpu upgrade compared to most mid range cpu, regardless of mobo support

I wouldn't. It's not really that good of an upgrade. Honestly, even the 4th gen probably isn't worth the upgrade. You're better off getting a better GPU.

At first we don't know what you needed it for. To check a bottleneck you that makes you slower, you can have task manager opened while you do you things, and see if GPU, CPU or ROM is holding you back. I ve had an i7 4970k and 90% of the time, my GPU was the problem (and ram). My guess is that your hand I itchy and you want to spend some more money :D
