Good hdd

Does anybody know a hdd which has a great price to performance ratio and is also under €50,-?

Well HDDs are pretty slow for performance as they can take a long time to load anything up on them...Possibly consider a SATA SSD for the price? 

 

I use Western Digital Caviar Blue drives for bulk storage and games I rarely play.

If it's just for data storage grab a Toshiba, WD, Seagate, etc.  They'll all perform the same basically.

Caviar Blue is the old PATA variant is it not? Its often mislabled online. I'm assuming you mean normal blue.

Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm mine was 45 quid when i bought it for 2tb last year.

If you're looking to use this as a boot drive, I'd strongly recommend getting a small ssd (like a 100GB or 120GB) and then getting a big hard drive for other stuff. If you're just using this for games, I'd personally use the tried and true WD Blue. (rhyme intended)

I'll store some movies and games on it, so i will use it regularly.

The only thing to watch out for is the rpm, make sure to get 7200 especially for games or youll have a bad time.

I've already got a 240gb wd green ssd with two around 250gb, middle-aged HDDs i just need a little bit faster & bigger storage

Ooops my mistake, I thought they were called Caviar Blue but yeah they are just the normal WD Blue Drives. 

 

I've never had a problem with Western Digital Drives and I still have one in my computer that is approaching 5 years old. My old computer has one that is going on 8. Did have a Seagate at one point but failed. 

 

As others that replied above, go for a 7200RPM drive.
