can i use a gpu with a pcie to mini pcie adapter?

i have a pc with a mini pcie, can i use a mini pcie to pcie full length to use a graphics card?

Yeah, but you'll be limited to x1 which will severely limit performance (if you even find a GPU that will run at x1).

what does x1 mean? and would 1x be worth it with a gtx460 instead of integrated radeon 5?
