FIXXED

Go to solution Solved by thebagsman,

If it doesn't fit than something is broken out of the box. If you have made sure the sticks are oriented properly and the latches are released then the only thing it could be is either the sticks or the slots were broken before you got them.

It was the motherboard guys the ram worked on other ddr4 motherboards but not this one, im returning it now, thx for the help though i prolly wouldve bought more ram if i didnt post this

Stupid question but did you pull the levers down?

Are the sticks oriented the right way?

My errors like this are  caused by forcing sticks in upside-down...

RAM is keyed, so it can only go in one way.... There is a notch on the side that you insert into the motherboard slot, and that notch is offset. This is the "key", line that up with the bump in the mobo slot, and your good to go.

As others have said, make sure you first "open" the clasps at the bottom and top of the motherboard slot. You have to open those, then when you pop the RAM in it will clasp them shut on its own.

Every DDR4 mobo will support all DDR4 RAM... They are all physically identical. There is no compatibility that needs to be verified.

That said, yes, linking the motherboard and RAM would be useful.

I can't say for sure. All I know is that RAM is perfectly compatible with that motherboard. If something isn't working you are either doing it wrong or something is broken.

Ram doesn't just "slide" in - typically you put the end of the stick on towards the PCIe slots first (most mobos have single clasps furthest away from PCIe slots) then angle it towards the clasping end - if you have matched the keyed side up correctly (the notch) then it will need to be pushed in until you here an audible click and the clasp shuts over the ram holding it in place.

You need to make sure those tabs are lifted up before trying to put the RAM into the slot.

Also, the slit on the RAM slot is NOT centered -- that for a reason.

The RAM will only fit into the slot one way.
