Cable management for server

When scrolling through Facebook today I came across this ad ( https://patchbox.com/patchbox?utm_source=6152463429586&utm_content=6202785010386&utm_medium=6202785009386 ) seems to be very intriguing for something that seems to be in the market currently definitely would help with cable management maybe some businesses would benefit from it I was wondering what everyone else on here thinks of it

So it takes up the slack in the cable and makes the rack look prettier. I wouldn't buy something like this just because if I leave a U free I can push any excess cable into the empty U. Why do I need a device that does the same thing but a little prettier?

 

Not saying it's a bad or pointless product design just say I don't see myself wanting it. Not to mention, ugh ribbon style cables. No, just no.

If you are extremely OCD/Anal, then this might be for you. If you don't give two craps like @Windows7ge, then it is pointless.

Honestly, I can see it's uses, but it varies for a lot of people. I don't know enough to comment on the use of ribbon cables. The concept it pretty smart seeing as no one has created anything like this (from what I have seen).

Hey, I care about cable management. I just don't see a product like this serving that important of a function that couldn't be done with 1/2 a dozen velcro straps for much cheaper.

 

Then there's the point Jarsky brought up. When one of those cables fail how hard is it to replace?

 

Just seems like a very niche product that is neat but doesn't really serve a worthwhile function. If you buy network cables of the appropriate length you don't need something like this.

I've actually seen these many times. While i like the concept. For most people they are just a waste of money. When a cable fail you need to replace the cable cartigde which costs more than a cable obviously..

 

But sure! If cosmetics is all you care about have a go at it.
