I don't know the correct "term" for this. But, they must exist, otherwise hdd enclosures wouldn't be a thing.

Do they sell PCB's for connection between hdds (SATA) ((power and data cable)) to USB3 and power adapter? Again, I do not know the term, so it's kinda hard to look for something when you don't know the terminology.

I mean, I could just buy an enclosure and strip it to the PCB board, but is there a way I can go cheaper without the plastic?

Or is this just OEM stuff that I can't get at?

I'm not sure if you'd be able to find just a bare PCB, but this model off of Amazon looks like it could fit your needs. The PCB appears to just be secured with 2 Phillips head screws, so you could probably remove it from the casing quite easily.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

Would something like this SATA to USB adapter work for you? Amazon link. Or are you building something and actually need a PCB?

Yeah, but at that price, I can get a dual one for lass than 2 of those...

@bellabichon Yeah, I can get this, and strip it, like the other one,

@GDRRileyThat adapter won't work, as you need external power for a 3.5 HDD.

There are USB drive docks if you need to switch drives often.

I have a Pi4 that has been sitting on my shelf since Christmas. I finally found my 2x 3TB WD Green HDD. I want to set it up as a NAS. Being a raspbeery, I can't just stick the drives in with a SATA cable...

I know, some say you need WD Reds. But I have known many people that use Greens for storage purposes ONLY. Not Plex or anything.

If those drives are 3.5" spinning disks, you might not be able to power them through USB and would need a powered enclosure.

I had tried taking the board out of a cheap Kingston enclosure that came with a SSD.  It worked fine for 2.5" drives (SSD and spinning rust). But would not work on a 3.5"

As also stated above. Yes, 3.5" drives will not work without external power.
