I have a Phanteks Evolv Shift. I find that my CPU is running at 60 ish C on idle and up wards of over 100c when stress tested with AIDIA 64. I have a low profile Noctua Air cooler current. Was told that an AIO might do a better job. Was looking at the Corsair H60 2018 version. Wanted thoughts. I also have extra 120 mm Phanteks fans in the basement of the case for extra air flow.

PC Spec:

Ryzen 2600x

16 Gigs Corsair RGB Pro Ram

1TB Intel 660p

1TB SSHD

RX5700 (blower style cooler)

Seasonic Focus gold PSU

Planning on Picking up a Sata SSD for a steam drive as I just recently went back to Windows as my friend wants me to get back in to gaming.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Upwards of 100c? Holy hell., Is it properly installed? It shouldn't get past 95c with a stock cooler unless it has an oc on it. The h60 sucks, you wont get much if any extra performance out of it.

ITs not using a stock cooler is a low profile Noctua cooler. The stock cooler was too tall I think.

Well considering the radiator would have to sit in the basement of the case where the PSU lives I think I would do better. I don't think you know much about this Phanteks case, there's less than an inch of clearance between the CPU cooler and the glass side panel.

You should probably try re mounting your cooler and re apply thermal paste, that is... very hot.

edit: I just read you're not using the stock cooler, nvm

Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen R7 3700X @4.4Ghz, GPU: Gigabyte RX 5700 XT, RAM: 32 GB (2x 8GB Trident Z Royal + 2x 8GB TForce Vulkan Z) @3000Mhz, Motherboard: ASRock B550m Steel Legend, Storage: 1x WD Black 1Tb NVMe (boot) + 1x Samsung 860 QVO 1Tb SSD (storage), Case: Thermaltake Core V21, Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

dit: you're using a low profile noctua cooler and stress testing with a very hard hitting application - now i see why it's cooking.

Do people not read. ITs running at 60c on idle. Doing nothing. That can't be normal. I want to start gaming again, so I stress tested it to see what worst case looked like.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

okay i didnt read it 100% correct. and my r7 3700x runs 55c on idle with 360mm aio. idel temps do not mean anything. load temps are the ones who mean something.

you could try with 120mm aio.

That's normal. Load temps are all that matters. My i7 idles at 55-65.

Anyhow, check your cooler mount. Sounds like it's not mounted properly. A 120mm AIO is a waste of money.

No need to get testy. lets keep this on a civil note.
