Hey- I'm looking for some reasonable desktop speakers for everyday use (Gaming, Movies, Youtube, nothing specific). Currently I have integrated audio from my monitor, which suprisingly is pretty good, and can be compared to a First-gen echo. I'm looking for something pure and basic, obviously without a dac, amp, none of that. I don't really have a certain budget, But I'd say not to stray too far past $100, and if there's a better more budget-friendly option, I would ask you to reccomened that as well. I don't particularly care if it's Bluetooth or wired, as the positioning will be fairly convient for either. Otherwise if you think there's some audio device just over than $100, then I probably will consider it. I don't have any special needs, but I do ask that if you can find something that can maintain good clarity with some extra bass, that would be great, but It's not a need. Any input helps. Thanks :)

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

I have an Audioengine A2+ for my PC that I think would please most people that are not really into audio. It is self powered, and has an internal DAC that you can make use of by connecting to your mobo via USB. The only downside is that the physical volume control is on the back.

Honestly, find some bookshelf speakers used near you (good ones often go for crazy cheap) and grab a power amplifier. Back in my school days I used car amplifiers with bookshelf speakers for a time. Decent speakers and a cheap amp will sound better than 90% of new options under a couple hundred bucks.

If you want something easy to go after, the Logitech 5.1 systems sound far better than they have any right to, I've got one hooked up to my TV and it sounds damn good.

Edifier has a lot of options on Amazon in various price brackets. Haven't really seen any audio snob reviews on them.

Personally I use a Micca PB42X. The volume knob aint in a great spot... it's meant to be more of a limiter, and for you to change volume levels further up the chain. But, they sound great. Bass is good if they're backed up to a wall. Subwoofer not needed for personal listening, imo.
