Basically, my friends and i thought it would be a cool feature that every time you press a key on your laptop, you hear a mechanical or typewriter click.

Does this exist?

If you think that the sound would feel tacky, or not in sync, play the game called Z-Type

http://phoboslab.org/ztype/

Every time you hit a key, theres a noise. (ignore the music)

it would just be extremely annoying to hear that on headphones. On every android or ios device I have ever gotten, one of the first things i do is disable all the stupid UI sounds including the typing noise (I also hate the windows logon noise and all that crap on windows as well)

Maybe some people would like the sound but apple have it on their mobile devices and I find it seriously annoying..

it's not just apple... android devices have them too. It's just as annoying as the stupid windows sounds.

Id love to have a little program that does this, because my k70 mxRed just came in the mail and I love it, but I miss that satisfying clicking of my old spring loaded keyboard.

EDIT ::

I dont think that it would be that hard to do it, just have something like this

if input == ("1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,q,w,e,r,t,y,u,i,o,p,a,s,d,f,g,h,j,k,l,z,x,c,v,b,n,m,,./;'[]-= ");{System.media.soundPlayer player = new System.media.SoundPlayer(@"c:\clicky\audio\click.mp3");player.Play();}

I assume the code in C# would be something like that, I know very very very very little c#.

One major flaw of this idea would be when recording games, since the clicky sound will go to your headset, Dxtory/Fraps/Shadowplay would pick this up as audio from the games, which would make Let's Play un-watchable for me [and lot's of other people]

My Blackwidow ultimate 2013 is a mechanical keyboard and I get a pretty loud noise everytime I type, since I also type hard with pressure.

If I went back to my old keyboard which was completely silent but sucked, I kinda got used to the sound now with my new keyboard, so if you can replicate a sound sort of like that I would definitely try it out and suggest it to my friends.

tl;dr: GREAT idea, not sure if the actual product will live up to the expectation.
