Advice choosing GPU

Looking to upgrade to the RX 5600 XT and im really stuck on which one to get, my 2 options are currently;

Sapphire Pulse: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/sapphire-radeon-rx-5600-xt-pulse-oc-6gb-gddr6-pcie-40-graphics-card-7nm-rdna-2304-streams-1750mh

OR

MSI Gaming X: https://www.ebuyer.com/951043-msi-radeon-rx-5600-xt-gaming-x-6gb-graphics-card-rx-5600-xt-gaming-x

Now, I have done some research and have seen that both have had vBIOS updates to boost performance, and I know that the Pulse can do 14Gbps, whereas the MSI Gaming is still locked at 12Gbps

But does this make a massive difference to performance? we talking like 2fps or 10fps

my personal preference if anyone has experience with either of these cards, is the quieter one, im a noise freak and things loud in my PC cause paranoia issues.

Many thanks in advance

Try to get a GPU with at least 8GB of VRAM, less VRAM will mean that the frame rate will drop at higher settings depending on the game and rendering tasks will be completed faster.

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,

In the grand scheme of things my plan is to go to a 5700xt but for now those were my options as I can get one imminently to replace my dead card, and then will pass along to friends/family when I can get the 5700xt

Thanks for the additional information @penguinluvin, in that case I would recommend this graphics card:

oh really? does 2gb of VRAM make all that difference? the card that just died on me was a 1060 3GB so dont really know much tbh, just was advised that a 5600XT was a nice little card for 1080p gaming, and would pair well with the 3600

I'll get the sapphire one if i were you, the noise is pretty much the same if we look up at the HU review (around 42db for both @1600 rpm), and the sapphire one has the 14Gbps so i'll take those 😁

Both models are good, the gaming x has a better cooler, the sapphire one is usually available at a better price. The differences between the cards are very small, so I would get the cheaper one, which in your case is the gaming x. Someone already mentioned it but you can look at this if you want more details:

I'm not sure where they got slower memory from though both models run with 14Gbps afaik

Vram is an issue if you have enough.  If use needs 5gb, 6 and 8 will give same performance.  If it needs 7gb, massive performance hit or won't run at all for some programs.

For something like rendering, rx5600xt is much faster if less then 6gb are needed.  Mining rx470 with 16gb ram will smoke a 2080 ti if render needs 12gb of vram, opposite if under 11gb of course.

I have seen program just say "8gb or higher needed" in popup and close program.  Professional program, not a game, most games don't need that many gigs for low setting, so you can at least get to menu.

Rx570 is cheaper, so for tie over card it is good choice, less wait to save for 5700.

High settings/screen res/ third party texture mods eat ram, more ram won't make 1080 low fps any higher.  If you don't need the ram and cost is similar, rx5600xt is much better.

Even higher end cards such as an RTX 2070 Super utilize 8GB of VRAM, a bit a additional video memory goes farther than you would expect, the 5600XT would usually cost $270 and a RX 570 would be £140, it's half the price and should give you great performance for 1080p gaming and can run more advanced software which may have 8GB of VRAM as a requirement, then you can save up for and purchase a 5700XT sooner.
