Ethernet capped at 10mbps

When I use wireless adapter, my download speed is significantly higher but when I use LAN cable, it is stuck at 10mbps. Is it some driver issue?

My motherboard is Asrock-320M HDV

I use the onboard ethernet driver.

The cable may be damaged or not crimped properly.

Look into the jacks and make sure the 8 pins don't touch each other ... in rare cases it's possible for some pins to touch others.

All good there. I think it might be a driver problem. My brother has good speed with his Asus mobo.

Make sure you're using a Cat6 or above network line. Then make sure whatever the other end is plugged into can handle gigabit traffic. If you're plugged into the wall, try running a line directly to what you need to connect to.

 

Of course, try updating/reinstalling your chipset and network drivers.
