Hello,

Need help here. For example your monitor is at 144hz and GSync is on and also the GPU can only render 60FPS. So the output is gonna be 60FPS/60HZ?

If the output will be 60FPS/60HZ then the feature of 144hz will be useless as the 60hz and 144hz are very noticeable for me.

Of course, to make use of a 144Hz monitor you either need a good enough GPU or to dial down the graphics quality to get the framerate close to it...

Firstly. Gsync only helps with fps and screen tearing. Secondly it makes input lag horrendous.

What if its vice versa, GPU is at 180FPS and monitor is at 144HZ? What's the FPS/HZ will be outputted?

Yep, the nice part is, if you dip down to 55 FPS, it will reduce your monitor to 55hz so no tearing.

This is not true. Gsync only adds input lag when you’re using it in a game that runs over the refresh rate of the monitor. I.e. 240fps on a 144hz screen. In this case you would want to use fastsync.

True ^ Forgot to mention that. Sorry I only based it on my experience. I'm very sensative as well when it comes to input lag.

You would want to limit the frame rate if you can to like 140 or 120hz. You would only really want to do this if the game was a twitch shooter, since the input lag is like hardly anything. People freak out over a 10ms increase in response time not realizing how insanely small that is.

that would be under specific in game settings correct like lock or limit the FPS to ie 144fps if its providing 180fps?

I am a hardcore gamer so I know how it feels when the screen reacts later to when I move my mouse. It is kinda annoying. I got good reaction times.

Yea, if they let you. Most esport titles have this as an option.

I see, well...

Basically GSync for me is for rich people as having a monitor that has a GSync is expensive. Having an additional feature of 144hz or above on that monitor is expensive. Having a GPU to render above 144FPS for latest AAA games is VERY VERY EXPENSIVE!

It depends too if that would be FHD or QHD display. UHD not an option SUPER DUPER EXPENSIVE. :)

You’re right, gsync is pretty pricey. However, nvidia cards that are 10 series or newer also support freesync which is much more affordable :)
