What internet speeds are you paying for? You will be limited to the slowest link, so if you pay for slower than 1GB, it doesn't matter what speeds the adapter or switch are.

Apologies should have been more specific my internal network speed I only get 30/40mbs so if I transfer files from my pc to my Nas that is the speed I get even though both have gigabite network cards

How are you getting online with the laptop?

What is upstream of the D-Link switch? And do you need both switches connected to each other or can you use one?

The laptop has WiFi.

The dlink it self is a gigabite switch the network set up Is isp modem into a deco router into a switch which is then split into 2 switches as I have multiple device in both locations

OK. You didn’t mention these 3 upstream devices in your previous posts.

Is the ISP’s device just a simple modem or a combo/gateway device? What is it’s make/model? Is it running in bridge mode if it is a combo device?

Which model of Deco mesh router are you using? And is the switch that is directly connected to this one a gigabit switch?

The ISP device is a combi device but i have switched it to modem only mode as the device is awfull by it self as a conbi device, the deco is M4 and yes it is a gigabit swtich.

So other than upgrading my cpu there is no way for me to get higher speeds on my internal network speeds?

It's not your cpu. Older and weaker cpu's can transfer faster than that.

What two devices are you transferring from/to? The wired pc and wifi laptop?
