What do you think?

Aight... thank you btw.... I do like the aesthetic...

Don't buy the Asus B450 Strix though. The Tomahawk in your original spec is much better.

Why is motherboard terrible? Got an idea for a better one?

What RAM would you recommend?

What case?

If you are going to criticize another guys idea could you at least put up a better option than what he did and not just say why it is not the best?

The VRM is terrible on the B450 Strix.

The Ram you chose is perfectly fine, although the 3200MHz CL16 kit is more or less the same price so you might as well go with that.

Same goes for the case. I haven't looked at reviews for it, but it has a mesh front so airflow should be ok. It has enough pre-installed fans as well.

I could have posted a build, but to be honest your initial list is pretty decent. You could swap out the psu to a 550W/650W and maybe get a different SSD (Not looked at how good/bad that one is). The board could also be swapped to the Asus X570 one if you want onboard wifi, although the Tomahawk and adapter is still cheaper overall if you want to save as much as possible.

@Dawson Wehage I looked more closely at the build... will these problems be an issue?

Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled.

Some physical dimension restrictions cannot (yet) be automatically checked, such as cpu cooler / RAM clearance with modules using tall heat spreaders.

Sorry if my questions are a little stupid... I am living in the BGPC era (Before the Gaming PC)

AMD will supply a temporary CPU to update the board if needed, here's the link https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100#faq-Short-Term-Processor-Loan-Boot-Kit

You can ignore the rest.

Faster 3200MHz Ram.

Better SSD.

Cheaper gpu. You could still go with a 5700/XT but the 5600XT is good enough for 1080p.

Better psu.
