Can I install Windows in another's computer HDD from my PC?

Go to solution Solved by Electronics Wizardy,

You can do that, but not just install windows on his pc?

If your system can't stay running during a windows install, you have bigger problems, check memory and hardware.

Hello!

My dad's PC is faulty and we need to reinstall Windows in it. The problem is that his computer uses to freeze/shut down unexpectedly quite often, so I was planning to take his HDD, plug it into my PC and reinstall Windows from it

My question is: Will this work? Will the HDD be recognized correctly in my dad's PC after I plug it back? Will windows work fine?

Thanks!

I know, we are working on figuring out what's wrong. But in the meantime he needs to use the PC to work as it is.. Thanks for the answer!
