Is it possible to take parts out of a laptop to use in a rig?

I have a 7 year old Asus gaming laptop that might have done it back in the day but right now it just doesn't cut it, is it possible for me to salvage some parts and maybe save a bit of money.

I think only the hard drive/SSD is relevant to re-use. (If you've upgraded that old laptop storage few years after purchase).

The ram is most possibly DDR3 - cannot be used to upgrade current DDR4 memories.

Even the modern crap WIFI cards are most generally better than the good ones existed 7 years ago.

Only the hard drive, that's it.
Even if the RAM was DDR4 the form factor is different.
Technically you can modify the screen to use HDMI or another standard or you can use the screen as an LED panel for streaming or something.

Selling the old laptop to be used for server maintenance is possibly the best option in my opinion.
Good Luck.
