Science and gaming build help

Budget (including currency): £1400 including monitor, flexible

Country: United Kingdom

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Scientific analysis, Minecraft, productivity

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Upgrading from 5 year old gaming laptop that is too slow. I plan to build this PC myself, and I want a micro-ATX size so it's more portable and is less imposing on my desk.

I own a 1080 monitor, but am used to dual monitors with my laptop for multitasking, so want something more. I don't need any new input devices.

I want to use it for some scientific analysis using CCP4, which is a multithreaded CPU task, but a good GPU is beneficial for the 3D visualisation steps. I also plan to game with it, which is mostly Minecraft, but I'll probably want to play other things as I'll have the capabilities.

I'd like general advice on this parts list, any pointers would be great. Thanks :)
