try disabling any water mods you have running, then try just general texture mods one by one until you find the culprit

I have quite a few mods installed, all work correctly, but the edges of the water look like ugly tar. Also anything in water is black and textureless.                               Last 2 pics no water mods, menu shows enb version.

Try disabling W.A.T.E.R. and see if that fixes it. There might be some water textures included in the 2K texture packs. But I'm not 100% so just give it a shot.

Not going to help, but your idea of sorting them by category is such a good idea! I don't know why I didn't do that last time, now I have to reinstall Skyrim.

Actually, no need for uninstall. Just create categories in nexus and drag the mods into them. Installing with NMM with automatically categorize.

Yeah, it's because it's such a huge mess because I didn't organise it that I can't be bothered to properly uninstall them by hand.

Turn off SSAO. Looks like it's being applied twice.
