Microphone Showing Up In Windows But Not Working

MicrophoneHelp

Hey, so I just built a computer for the first time and it shows up in the Windows tab but it doesn't light up & I've tried both the back ports/front ports, nothing happens.

It's not muted or anything, could it possibly be a cable I missed plugging in?

I have my audio working audio but just not the microphone working.

It's not a Windows thing where I have to enable certain apps to take control, I already have that checked.

It's plugged into the back of my motherboard.

Have you tried updating your microphone driver?

If you're not using a combo audio/mic jack, it looks as though you will need a splitter as these terminate into a single 3.5mm combo.
