Should i upgrade my CPU first?

Budget (including currency): To be decided

Country: Hungary

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:  AAA-s, VR-games, CAD programs, 3D modelling

 

Hi everyone!

Im thinkin about a GPU upgrade, when the new NVIDIA 3000 series will be released, but im not a 100% sure, that my CPU will be a good choice to go with it, what do you guys think?
I wanna upgrade, because RDR2 is not running the way i would like, some vr games is also limited by my GPU, and i still can sell my 1080 with a decent price.

 

What i have now:

 

Asrock Fatal1ty x470 gaming K4

AMD Ryzen 7 2700x

Kingston Hyperx 16 GB 3200 MHz

Samsung NVME 960 SSD 250 GB

4 HDD-s

Inno3D GeForce GTX 1080 X4 iChill 8GB

EVGA 650 GQ 650W Gold

I have 2 monitors, one 144 Hz 1440p and one 4k 60Hz, i mainly play on the first.

Just dont touch anything until everything is out. your pc is pretty much next to top  of the line desktop your cpu is fine, the gpu is pretty much just below 20% weaker than the current high end GPU so you good.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

GPU             : ASUS RX 580 Dual OC (Formerly ASUS GTX 1060 but it got corroded for some odd reasons)

GPU COOOER      : ID Cooling Frostflow 120 VGA (Stock cooler overheats even when undervolted :()

MEMORY          : Team Group Elite TUF DDR4 3600 Mhz CL 16
