Samsung NVMe worth it?

RollTime

These two drives:

Are both 1tb, and are significantly cheaper than the samsung offering:

They're slower, of course, and I think either TLC or QLC, but most of the wisdom I've heard is that it's not necessarily very noticeable day-to-day. Is that still the case with this kind of performance gulf? I'm not doing any storage-heavy tasks like gaming or video editing.

If anyone knows of a cheaper/better price to performance option, please do share.

Performance wise no. But if you're using a SATA SSD you really won't notice the switch to NVME either. The price justification for Samsungs comes down to reliability. They make the most reliable SSD's on the market (and among the fastest), making them a perfect choice for power users. If you aren't going to be hammering it with writes than you don't *NEED* it, however, I wouldn't talk out out of it. Intel makes great drives too, though. As does WD and Crucial.

I've already got NVMe, but it's the drive that came with my laptop, so not great performance in the first place. Think I'll go with a lower cost
