Ryzen 5 3600 high temp spikes

Hey LTT Community,

so i just switched from intel to amd which was a very good choice. But im experiencing one problem. When im playing, my Noctua Nh-u12s is cooling my ryzen 5 3600 excellent at around 63-65°C, but it always suddenly jumps up to 73°C and then goes down again. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? What can i do to stop my processor doing that

This isn't a problem at all. It's just a heat spike from increased power draw.

Unless it's spiking into the high 80s then there's nothing to worry about.

It's normal to have a fluctuation in power usage and therefor temperatures while playing games, if you want a consistent power draw use a program that utilizes all the cores to 100%.

Cinebench R20 is the easiest one to use, but there is also AIDA64 and Prime95
