You don't need a i9-10980XE for gaming, it would probably be worse than a i9-9900K or Ryzen 9 3950 and its way more expensive. Get one of those processors and take the excess into getting 64GB of ram and more storage or just save the money. The i9-10980XE is meant for productivity work like video editing, and is not meant for gaming and will be worse than the cheaper 9900k

Interesting choices for displays.

Don't bother quoting a US price. US pricing has no relevance to you.

As for the parts of the build:

  • PSU is monstrously overkill, and a complete waste.
  • You should have gone with faster memory.
  • If you're only gaming, the CPU is a waste.
  • 64GB of RAM, again, is unnecessary. 32GB would make sense depending on how you use your PC.

All in all, there's a ton of wasted money here, on parts that only make sense if you're trying to have the biggest epeen, which IMO is kind of sad.

The 9900k makes absolutely no sense now that the 109700k is almost here.

Go and return ur CPU and mobo, they are not what you need. Go with i9-990K or a Ryzen 9 3900X and a compatible mobo (look through reviews and find the one with the features u want). You don't need 64GB or RAM, upgrade it when the world has gotten to a point when 32GB of RAM just isn't enough. You may want to go 10th gen intel, but don't go X-series, just go with a K-series.

Fuck you scalpers, fuck you scammers, fuck all of you jerks that charge way too much to tech-illiterate people.

Unless I say I am speaking from experience or can confirm my expertise, assume it is an educated guess.

Current setup: Ryzen 5 3600, MSI MPG B550, 2x8GB DDR4-3200, RX 5600 XT (+120 core, +320 Mem), 1TB WD SN550, 1TB Team MP33, 2TB Seagate Barracuda Compute, 500GB Samsung 860 Evo, Corsair 4000D Airflow, 650W 80+ Gold. Razer peripherals.

Also have a Alienware Alpha R1: i3-4170T, GTX 860M (≈ a 750 Ti). 2x4GB DDR3L-1600, Crucial MX500

Ohh thanks, But the i9-9900K won't fit the LGA 2066 socket will it? So do you have a better motherboard for me ? I dont mind a high price

I am gonna go with atleast 64GB ram just waiting for a price drop

And ill be getting a 500GB ssd for windows and the 1TB is for games only

I will probably also add a 3TB fireCuda

In my experience, a FireCuda is not worth it. You don't need 500GB for windows, you need 100GB, max. Use the rest of the SSD for something better. You choose the right M.2, but unless you are saving stuff like adobe creative cloud to the FireCuda because you ran out of space on an SSD, you won't see a difference. Never use an SSHD for generic, under used secondary or tertiary storage, bc it is a waste of money.

No the 9900K won't fit LGA 2066, that is an X-series socket, and you are wasting money on gaming. X-series won't see a bit of difference in gaming. There are plenty of high end LGA 1151 mobos to choose from. Just look up Z390 on sites like PCPP or newegg/amazon.

No not really, I know its overkill but I don't really mind the price as long as I get great gaming experience

(Best gaming CPU)

(Best gaming GPU)

(Great motherboard)

And i like it kind a flashy with rgb and with no problem running high requirement games

Where do you draw the line, though? You'll not run into any issues whatsoever with 16GB of ram for gaming (usually). If you play some 'out-of-the-ordinary' games that have high memory requirements regularly - then I could also understand the 32GB. 64GB however is just insane. If you don't mind the price, why don't you max out the MoBo and go for 128GB? See where I'm going with this? Same goes for storage and PSU.

With the mindset of always having the best components I'd much rather buy reasonable components that actually matter and use the money that you saved to upgrade to RTX 3000 or Ryzen 4000 in the future.

I would return the PSU as 1200W is massive overkill. You will be fine with a 650W.

The Samsung SSD's are also usually overpriced. Not a huge issue if you keep it, but there is better value with other brands.

I would also cancel/return the case as the 1000D is massive. You don't need a case that big for a build like this.

If it was me I would go with a 3700X, an X570 board and 32GB Ram. I would also go mid range on the gpu i.e 5700XT or 2070 Super. At the end of the year you will have upgrade options on the cpu/gpu if you want them.

Well i guess my line is very jumpy, I don't really know much about building a pc.

So I'll take any advice and knowledge with an open hand
