The right case

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Thank you all, I think I've made up my mind, I'll be going with the define R4

Hello everyone. Recently I moved my computer housed in  a COOLERMASTER Storm Scout (v1) in my bedroom. Problem being, that I need to have my computer on at night and this case lets the fan noise spread through my room very easily (it doesn't have sound dampening material and the window on the side has fan openings). I was wondering if a case with the following criterias existed:

  • A side panel window
  • Silence (sound dampening, thicker side window...)
  • at least 3 "5.25" inch drive bays
  • ATX form factor (I have a Sabertooth 990FX R2.0)
  • Accepts long graphics cards

No need for good stock fans, I have my own.

I don't think a case would reduce noise by thaaaat much.. Would it not be more logical to lower fan speeds + overclocks than blow money on a new case? I have a r4 personally and I can say it's an awesome case :D. For liquid cooling the NZXT 440 looks hot and well priced.

Why not just replace the fans with quieter ones?

he said he needs 5.25 bays. H440 is out.

Define R4 will be the most popular answer. Seems to be the best option for what you're looking for.

r4 as well, he needs 3 of them.

Why not just replace the fans with quieter ones?

or just get a fan controller and turn them off over night? why does the pc Need to be on?

Thank you all, 2 5.25 bays could be ok I guess, I need the PC at night for downloading (I have a very slow internet connection, 1.5mbit/s) and buying better fans won't cut it in the CM Storm scout because there a re openings on the side and even with silent fans, the noise still comes out through the side. I heard some case had a different material than acrylic on the side which was thicker and allowed for less noise.
