Posted May 9, 2020 Hey everyone, newbie question but I have just ordered an asrock a300 mini and was originally intending putting a 3400g in it but I came across a really good deal on a 2400g instead so went with that instead. My problem is I ordered 3200mhz SODIMM ram thinking I was getting the 3400g. will this run and just be limited to the 2400g mamimum 2900 MHz speed or will it just flat out not support it and not boot. cheers w
 Posted May 9, 2020 As it's based on A300 chipset (which limits the maximum frequencies and limits overclocking) the maximum will be probably 2933 mhz. You CAN buy 3200 or 3600 Mhz SO-DIMM sticks, but there's small chance they'll work at frequencies higher than 2933 Higher frequency sticks will run at lower frequencies perfectly fine.
