Mid price range Intel-based PC for 2k gaming [BUILD/SUGGESTIONS/QUESTION]

Hey guys! So I'm planning on building my first gaming / multimedia / music production PC this month and I wanted to hear your feedback on my spec choices.

Also, I have one question that really keeping me up at night: Is it worth it picking up RTX 2060 S for 480 usd when I can get new GTX 1080 for 370 usd? (I don't care that much about RTX technology as it is, especially knowing that 2060s wouldn't be powerfull enough to run games with it in 2k anyways).

Here are parts I've chosen and approx. price on them (converted from local currency):

  • Intel Core i5 9600KF $210
  • Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black $85
  • MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Plus $140
  • G.Skill DDR4-3000 Ripjaws V Red 16GB $80
  • !!! MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Super Gaming X $480 OR MSI GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G $370 !!!
  • PATRIOT Viper VPN100 512 GB $90
  • Toshiba P300 2TB $55
  • be quiet! Straight Power 11 550W $115
  • NZXT H510 Matte Black-Red $90

Total Build Price: $1,345 / $1,235

+

  • Monitor: 31.5" LG UltraGear 32GK650F-B $370 (if anyone wondering)

P.S. All suggestions, comments and questions are greatly appreciated.

P.P.S. Suggesting AMD build will give me anxiety attack, I've spent too many hours on this one.

P.P.P.S. Stay safe everyone!

You're wasting your money buying a 9600.

You should highly consider looking at AMD, their processors are much more performance/dollar balanced compared to the former. Doesn't take much research to see.

Addressing AMD suggestions: I can get Intel Core i5 9600KF for exact same price as AMD R5 3600, and from what I've heard (benchmarks, reliability, overall performance) i5 9600K is simply better. And I don't really want to go down on CPU side, buying this one for good amount of years to come.

*side note please quote us* then those claims seem kinda false @Slottr

And thats where it turns. AMD has great support for future chips. Intel does not, and will be leaving their current platform this year. So if you end up going with that 9600- you're stuck on that chipset and won't be able to upgrade.

1080 is faster. I use one for 1440 ultrawide and it's fine
