New pc build

Doug07

Hi, I would like some help in choosing a new mb as my very old P6T Deluxe v2 has finally bit the dust, I want value for money but have not had my head in PC building for a decade, I only use my pc for games at 1080p and general internet use and I also have an video capture card and an old Gtx 970 , I still use my Asus

xonar sound card but that is pci Card so I guess I won’t be able to use that anymore. I have had a look about today and seen the Asus prime Z390a mb and the i5  8600k not sure if they are best value for money but any advice would be welcome, thanks in advance.

Current gen i5 and Z390 motherboards look pretty bad in comparison with Ryzen CPUs. A ryzen 5 3600 in a cheap B450 (or one of the newly announced B550 motherboards, depending on when you are buying) is a much better choice.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

they are good nower days and often you get more value from amd but at least with the ryzen 5 3600 and the more high end ryzens from that gen you won't be able to get all cores to the may single core or even above that like in last gens

Make sure you quote us so that we can see your responses.

The AMD drivers for motherboards were never really an issue, it's their graphics cards that have problems.

Im Running a 3700X with a ROG Cross-hair VII thats a beast and was $200 cheaper than the new ROG 570 Motherboard 32gb 2 x16gb dims which left me a upgrade path, all the drivers installed great, though I cloned my SSD to the NVME drive at first, it didnt seem to work that well so I did a clean install and it seemed to sought out most problems, the only problem I have now is if I over clock the CPU, it doesnt seem to like working with the Mechanical Hard-drives, sometimes not,  recognizing them, any idea on how I could solve that would helpful
