Yet another SLI thread - Not 970 issues

Suicide8527

Hey all,

So I'm currently having issues with my latest project.

I bought a Rog Strix z390-F mobo with the intention of slapping 2 1080 GTX Waterforces on it, CPU is an i7 9700F.

Both cards are recognised in the BIOS as running at x8, same same in the device manager and Nvidia CP. The SLI option is there, but everything is greyed out. Nothing else is taking up PCIe slots. Originally I had my Sata in the SATA6G-56 slots, which WAS using pcie bandwidth from pcie x16_3, that has since been removed to other non-pcie stealing connections.

I've tried 2 different HB bridges, DDU'd my drivers, and both 1080s were running in SLI in another build, so I highly doubt its a compatibility issue.

Both cards are there in GPU-Z.

I'm at wits end. The only things I can thing of is I have 2 faulty bridges or my PSU (CX750M) isn't providing enough power.

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi's. You're my only hope.

*Also tried setting physx to the CPU instead of GTX 1080 (2).

** First GPU-Z is the main card, running at pcie 1.1 due to lower power requirements at the time. Hitting the benchmark bumps it up to 3.0.
