Laptop buying help

I am planning to buy a acer predator helios 300 and I have 2 options

-i5 9300H RTX 2060 8GB Ram 1,499 CAD

-i7 9750H GTX 1660Ti 16GB Ram 1,649 CAD

Which one would be the better buy?

Well the 9300H is 4 core/8 thread, and the GPU supports raytracing.

The 9750H is a 6 core/12 thread, GPU doesn't have raytracing.

The system supports up to 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, so in order to pull that off with the 9300H, you would have to buy a 2x16GB kit, whereas with the 9750H you would just need to get a 16GB sodimm that matches in speed/latency.

I personally would go with the 1660 version.  I have a 2060 in my Area-51m that I've had almost a year now, and haven't even used the RTX features lol.

Alienware Area 51m 2019:  RTX 2060 | i7-9700 | 32GB Corsair Vengeance (2x16GB) 2666 | 1TB 970 EVO | 240GB Corsair Force MP510.

BACKUP SYSTEM:  ASUS Prime X470 PRO | Ryzen 5 1600 | G.skill FORTIS 16GB(2x8GB) 2400 | SanDisk SDSSDA 120GB | EVGA SuperNOVA GA 850 | HAF-XB-EVO

I'd go with the first one and add another 8GB of ram to it. Games need GPU performance much more than CPU, so the 2060 will get you more fps. 8 threads could become a bottleneck when games designed for next-gen consoles start coming out in full swing, but that's not for a few years, and honestly, games like that will probably require RT capabilities well beyond what Turing can do, so it's not much of a loss anyway. 8GB of ram can be kinda sorta ok, depending on what games you're playing and whether you want to leave your browser open in the background, but I'd say it's worth the upgrade just to get dual channel

Thanks guys for the answers. I will go for the i5 and add a stick of 8gb down the road.
