Corsair C70 Black + Red build

district_11

Okay so I always wanted to build my own PC, and go back a year, or even 6 months, and I didn't have a clue about how to go about it. I started watching Linus' build videos on Youtube and I was confused with modular this, LGA that etc, However I was inspired. I started my research, and to stop myself from giving up before I even started, purchased a Corsair C70 in August 2013. I spent the next few months watching Linus and Carey Holzman whilst researching parts.

I knew from the outset that if I was going to do it, I was going to do it properly and not set myself a budget, but with that said I was not going to go crazy! Before starting this project, the most I had done was replace RAM and a bad PSU, the build itself did not worry me, I had watched enough videos, but the software side of things did; see I had this idea that PC builders have to set up and configure the BIOS - voltages, fan speeds, all that kinda stuff. I didn't realize that mobo manufacturers did it all (to a certain extent) for you.

Anyway here's what I ended up with;

MOAR MOAR PICTURES!

I'll take some more tomorrow, (I'm working on my second build anyway so it'll be a good excuse to get the camera out) I only recently got the second 780 backplate installed and swapped the pigtail PCI cables over for 6+2 ones. It meant running 2 extra cables but they look much neater now IMO

Nice, be cool if you did a custom paint job, like painted the top of the ram red, and did an airbrushed finish on the outside, like some sort of two tone (but yeah they cost a lot). but still very cool indeed.

Nice build! I'm really jealous. :P (I have a AMD FX-6100, so yeah)

How's the cable management in the C70? I was looking in to that case, and I have a non-modular PSU...

EDIT: Also, did you change the side panel window? All the ones I see have the fan mounts.
