which PC case?

jaredr2

I am looking to get a PC case for building my first PC. I got help with the build on here a while ago, but am not sure which case to go with.

Im choosing between this https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811553030?Item=N82E16811553030 and https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Carbide-100R-Mid-Tower-Case/dp/B00RORBQNW/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3KCPMD6O7I0RQ&dchild=1&keywords=cougar+mx330+atx+mid+tower+case&qid=1588654025&s=electronics&sprefix=cougar+mx%2Celectronics%2C326&sr=1-4

Can someone help me out?

For reference, this is the post describing the build im going to try out:

What is your budget for a PC case + extra fans?

Between the 2 you have listed the Cougar seems better for airflow but I don't know much about either one.

well you were asking for changes in the thread you attached so I have no idea what changed if anything.   You can look at your expected build and total, then add up what is left for a case/fans.   The build thread does not have a price for the power supply, so I don't know if the total went over 600 or not.

As you can imagine there are a lot of cases out there and picking one will become subjective to how you want it to look and perform.

Here is another case that seems like it will fit your build -> https://www.newegg.com/black-fractal-design-focus-g-atx-mid-tower/p/N82E16811352069.  The case comes in different colors and includes 2 fans.   If you keep the 2 included fans, then you would have the ability to have 4 fans running (2 intake, 2 exhaust)  or you could remove 1 purchased fan and save 7 dollars.

@Tristerin has used the MX330 multiple times and vouches for it, especially when you add 2 fans to the front like you already plan on doing. At $50 shipped it's not as low as the case has ever been price wise but it's still a decent deal, the -X suffix variant doesn't have a side window like the default version (but the default is $58 before shipping right now sooooo....)

Focus G is a solid alternative since it comes with 2 re installed fans, but it's $63 shipped, and you'd still need to add at least 1 of those Arctic P12's to match the fan count of the MX330. If you dont care about the White LED's or the color of the case, the MX330 is the better value.
