Computer with ASUS GTX 2070 Super (or 3070 if it comes with a good price):

DisplayPort 1: Main display (LG 34 UltraGear 34GN850 or ASUS 34 ROG Swift PG349Q) with minimum 1440p and 144Hz (or 120 with ASUS)

DisplayPort 2: Vault Index (With a 10m (30Feet) fiber DisplayPort cable extension)

HDMI1: Secondary old monitor (ASUS 24 VG248QE 144Hz) Just for reddit and forums

HDMI2: HDMI splitter. Cable 1 to Third old monitor (ASUS 24 VG248QE 144Hz) for Netflix and stuff. Cable 2 to living room for people watching me play VR.

Quote

Question 1: Will me main display be able to run 1440p and 144Hz event though I have 2(3) HDMI displays connected at the same GPU?

Question 2: Is there any other options to connect all my stuff? (That’s 3 monitors, 1 tv and 1 VR valve index to one computer)

1. The videocard supports up to 4 displays, the HDMI splitter just acts as.. A splitter! So your videocard just sees 4 displays.

Should work.

2. Not really. There are things like Matrox cards or possibilities to use your iGPU (if available), but not real reason to do that if a videocard works.

So, uhm... Hello!

It’s time to start building the nerd cave (i want to call it man cave but the missus forbid me to call it man cave, soo... yeah... nerd cave it is) That means I get to buy some new stuff 😊

I need some help with my display cable. I will have the following things to connect

Thanks minibois and Senzelian

Now I only need to duplicate that setting (you know, missus wants the same thing), drill a big ass whole in the basement ceiling to the living room and pull 2 DisplayPort fiber cable, 2 HDMI cable and 3 USB cable in the same pvc pipe. Hmm, where did i put that drill...

Thanks again :)

GeForcce graphics cards support a maximum of 4 displays. You need an AMD card to support more (up to 6).

HDMI doesn't support multiple displays on a single port. A splitter will only duplicate the image.

AMD, what’s that? 😘

Duplicate is no problem, when I play with VR, I do not use my monitors in the basement. So, I am happy if it shows up on the TV in the living room

Something I have not tried personally but plan to once I get it all setup. I have heard it can be done. Get a secondary cheapo GPU and run a monitor off of it.

I think a second graphics card would support additional output devices once you fill up the 4 ports on your first graphics card.

What i really wonder is whether you could use a cheap GTX 1060 for additional outputs for your 5th display but drive the content output onto that display using your faster graphics card.
