5700 or 5700xt or Nvidia Equivalent ?

Sy1501

Hi All

Im doing my first build and have just got a Ryzen 5 3600 to start my build. I’m looking for some advice on wether is should get a AMD 5700/5700XT or Nvidia equivalent or buy a cheapish used card for now and wait for the new cards in Oct/Nov ?

Thanks

Simon

Depends, want better raytracing or a lower price?

If I recall the 5700 XT is okay at raytracing but not as good a the real deal. It also has lower frametimes than the RTX 2060 if I remember correctly, so VR is a bit nicer.

There is also the talk about flashing a higher end bios on the lower end cards to gain performance.

Either way I think you will be fine, personally I’m a team red “fanboy”.

Thanks for the reply’s. I’m not sure what raytracing is. If I get a lower end graphics card until the new AMD RDNA 2 arrives. What would you suggest ? As it will be only used for a few months it could be secondhand and around £100.
