we need many, many more details. Spec list (pcpartpicker is ideal), what you use the PC for, etc. Pictures can help.

you can send any defective parts in for repair. You should not freak out about this possibility, it happens to all of us. I have had to send many parts in for RMA or refund in the past.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock cooler

b450 mortarmax

gtx 1650 super

650w TX650M corsair 80plus gold unit

16 gb ballistix memory

NR600 cooler master case.

ok, here's what you can do:

Take everything out of the case.

Set the mobo on something large and non-conductive, like a phone book.

Plug in only the video card, power supply, leave the cpu and cooler and ram on.

Turn it on (or attempt to) and see what happens.

Like what in the world could cause this .... I'm speechless....

Hardware defects. It happens.

Did you OC anything? That will cause premature failure as well

How is your power in the room? If it's dodgy, that'll cause issues too.

Didn't oc anything, checked if cables are plugged in really correctly before I turned it on... I've calmed a bit now I will try to jump the psu with a fan plugged to it to see if it is the problem. Except I don't have a paper clip and I don't know what to do... I'll try to contact a friend  to see if he has one.

Not really dodgy I live in France and the thing that I plug the monitor and the computer can handle 3000w and I've been using it for a while previously  with my laptop charger phone etc...

Just make sure the rest of the power supply isn't plugged into anything else...

One other issue is the video from corsair on how to jump a psu is really old and they are using colored cables and he did it on specficily colored cables but mine are black so I don't know how to find which one to put the clip in...

Now all that test will show is if the PSU is getting power. It doesn't show if the PSU can handle putting out enough power under load, but it's a start.

any loose cables/connections?

Actually one thing that was missing from the case are like plastic standoffs for the power supply... As shown in the picture, I only had two so I put them diagonally and screwed the power supply and it seemed really fixed in place not moving at all. And I checked the powrsupply while running it doesn't touch the bottom of the case, could that have caused the issue somehow?

Edit: I highlighted the things I'm talking about

No, other parts of the PSU touch metal to metal on the case. This is not a problem (other than for possible vibrations)

In fact the metal of the PSU is supposed to touch the metal of the case, so that everything is grounded to the outlet.

It's possible that something simply came loose.

If your PC stops working in the future, make sure to take a deep breath and calm down, because your anxiety might make things worse.

I know , that's exactly what i did i just went outside to get some groceries and took a deep breath and came back and now its working, I just hope the issue doesn't come back again.

also one question . I thought that maybe the dust filter under the PSU was maybe causing the PSU to choke on air and heat up? I removed it , is it bad should I put it back?

also the reason why i got anxious cause its my first build and i put a lot of hard earned cash into it.... but hopefully its fine now !!

Dust filters benefit from the occasional cleaning. It's best to keep it there, and pull it out again in a few months to clear it again.

yea I decided to just put it back.... thanks a lot for the help man

Thanks everyone that suggested fixes and  especially for advising me to calm down its obviously the best thing I could do if an issue like this occurs
