So the build I’m doing is a game / stream rig

(That will game on 1080p and stream on Very High720p)

my system is going to be run on a
Ryzen 3600

Mobo - MSI Tomahawk Max

but picking my GPU is kinda weird because. Initially I was going to go for a Gigabyte GTX 2060 OC 6GB , but then some one also mentioned to think about getting a MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB MECH OC instead.

I picked to go with the 2060 because NVENC but than people say the extra 2 GBs that the 5700XT has makes a difference. Soo Im not sure what to do

Yea, agreed at that res i don't see 6 GB becoming a bottleneck. My sister has a 1060 6GB on 1080p, she hasn't had any issues.

Why are people still thinking NVENC is such a great thing? It's literally the same performance and quality as AMD's VCN on the 5700 XT right now, and unless you're using some really obscure streaming program, is equally as supported by software now.

That was before the 5700 series was even announced.

I think that if AMD's encoder was better than NVIDIA's it would be more well known fact

I never once said it was better. I said it was equivalent in all meaningful ways. Nvidia shills (they are very real, and you're using all their arguments) have been spounting issues in the AMD drivers that were patched over 6 months ago as reasons to buy Nvidia instead, and people generally fall for it, even the big name youtubers that review the tech. (who are also not representative of the majority of users)

My point is, that if AMD's encoder was equivalent it would be a more well known fact. Come to this forum and ask for a build list and say that you're streaming and you'll be pointed straight to Nvidia.

Well know does not make something a fact. Less known does not make something false. You assume that VCN 2.0 would be more common knowledge, but the vast majority of people don't actually pay attention to this stuff, even on tech forums.
