Charging your Mac wrong?

Supposedly, the 15-inch MacBook Pro 2017 and the 16-inch MacBook Pro 2019 have some interesting quirks related to charging them using the left side of the device instead of the right side.
This source claims it can lead to noisier fans and decreased performance.
