hello, i just purchased 8 gigs of ram (same make and speed as my other two sticks).

before i had 16 gigs of 2666mhz set to that speed, i put the two new sticks in the dual channel slots (total of 4 slots) its the GIGABYTE H370 HD3

and now i cant over clock them to 2666 they are stuck in base clock, my pc crashes when i use the xmp profile.

the ram is the Corsair LPX 8GB DRAM 2666MHz C16  (2 sticks of 8 and two sticks of 4)

if anyone can help that would be great!

Usually mixing different types and capacities of RAM is a bad idea, this is why. It’s also a LOT harder to stabilize 4 sticks of RAM over 2.

The only thing I can suggest is setting the timings to the kit with the worst timings and upping the RAM voltage, but theres not much else you can do outside of that. A command rate of 2 will sometimes help.

Other than that I would just take the two 4GB sticks out and set it back to XMP, run it at default 2133MHz with all 4 sticks, try XMP but with a lower speed like 2400MHz or get the exact same kit with the exact same capacity next time.

Quote me or @TwilightRavens if you want me to see your reply. I may go inactive for a long time from time to time because I forget how to socialize, but I will be back... eventually.
