New build plan seeking overview

Beef Boss

Hi, I started to plan a new PC I'd like to build thats in my budget. I know the build doesnt include any peripherals but I will purchase parts as money comes... I was going for like an all black build, overclocking would be cool. I was looking for use of an eight core processor for gaming, CAD, editing, folding when I'm away, and virtual machines... I'm wondering on the compatibility of the cpu cooler with ram, having an eight core processor I was thinking I need a bigger cooler because some people state that the 3600 at full tdp is roasting at 75c... Kinda threw this together today so. I probably be using at least two screens. Any suggestions?

Corsair 4000D RGB

Asus B550 Tuf Gaming II

Asus 7700XT Tuf Gaming

AMD 5600x3d

32gb 3200mhz gskil

I like the build, but why such an expensive mobo? You could spend about 100 less and take that 100 and get a better GPU... That mobo is very overkill. Nothing wrong with it, but, thats a lot of money for a mobo.

I actually really like it but here is what I would do.

Switch the cooler for a NZXT X52 or something similar

Downgrade the mobo to the MSI x570 MPG Gaming Edge Wifi

The price difference will give you better temps and available space in your case.

GPU is best bang for the buck IMO based on reviews and price vs performance.

Hi there, any word on the 2070? Dropping the price in motherboard like you guys suggested added about a hundred bucks for other things. I was looking at the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB WINDFORCE OC 3X Video Card it has a slightly higher base clock than others though its apparently a little noisy. I would like to get a full size card, and this one comes in at around 500 dollars. Thank you.

You should avoid MSI X570 boards altogether, unless going for the X570 Unify or above.

An Arctic Freezer 34 esports duo will easily cope with a 3700X.

Don't get MSI X570 motherboards. They're horrible.

Other than that the build looks fine.

Personally I wouldn't get an AMD card due to the fact they constantly have issues with drivers, and you could easily do with a 650w PSU, but those are more personal than requirements.

Driver issues have been fixed.

You stating that X570 motherboards are trash and AIO are useless leads me to believe you have substantiating evidence to back your claim.

Doesn't matter if they're fixed, it's been an issue with AMD for many, many years.

140mm AIOs are often worse then even middle of the road air coolers, yet take up more space and have many more points of potential failure.

Hardware Unboxed has gone into depth on why MSI X570 boards are trash.

I'm slightly confused as to why you're referencing 140mm AIO. The X52 is a 240mm AIO which many recommend over the 140mm anyways.

If you stating that one has the advantage of the other, yes, AIO may not always be the best option when considering price vs cooling performance.

Could you recommend a motherboard that would work good with a 3700x? Id kinda like to stick with an AMD CPU. I did see the Asus someone posted, but I'm not a fan of the tacky "tuff gaming"

Gigabyte's X570 Ultra board is nice.
