Good value digital video camera for teaching

Hi guys,

 

Owing to our Corona-times, I am required to teach online for the entire Summer semester, and possibly beyond that. This means the University is making all lecturers become amateur youtubers. In my home setup, I am currently running a Razer Kyo Webcam for Video, and a Yeti classic for sound capture, and am using OBS to combine both. However, given that this may well become the new normal, I am looking to up my game a little bit, so I was wondering if any of you fine folks could recommend me a decent camera for video capture, or even a better webcam i can use for that purpos (i.e. without breaking the bank).

Use your phone, most phones have better camera than webcams.

Hi and thanks for the quick reply. I did using IP webcam on my phone, but I actually have trouble running it with OBS. I can open the feed from my phone fine on a browser, but when I use it as a video capture source on OBS it does not seem to work. To be fair, I did not try super hard.

lights are likely going to make the webcam look better.
