Help?

So, i'm building a pc with the ryzen 5 3600, so is getting a 4000 mhz ram worth it? Because I thought it gets downgraded or something because the cpu can't utilize those speeds. So im now thinking of getting a 3600 mhz kit.

depends on what kit it is. and wether or not you are gonna manually tweak it.

No, I'm just going to go into the BIOS and set the speeds to what its advertised. And its 2x8 gb

then going for it is kinda pointless considering that Ryzen 3k really cant run that without unlocking IF from ramspeed and changing it to 2:1.

it tops out around 3600-3800mhz depending on silicon lottery.

Just get 3600Mhz

AMD themselves says it's the sweet spot, and more than that gets expensive quick while not giving much performance.

Linus made a nice AMD RAM speed video if you want to watch:

I got lost at ramspeed, so should I just get something like a 3600 mhz kit?

I personally went for 3600Mhz, idk i feel like 4000 is somewhat overkill for a Ryzen3600 (I have the 3600X)
